Win or Lose it’s always going to be Red Army

I paid £87.50 for my Bayern Munich ticket.

Was I sure that Arsenal would win? No.

Do I regret spending £87.50 to watch Arsenal lose 3-1? No.

Don’t get me wrong, I wish with all my heart that we had won the game as I want us to win the Champions League more than anything.

Before the game, people laughed at me saying I was mad to spend so much money on a ticket for a football match and to go to such a game. I got the usual comments berating Arsenal and how badly we were going to lose. I didn’t let this deter me I remained upbeat and excited for the brilliant game ahead.

After the game I received many messages regarding the game asking if it was worth spending the money.

My answer again was yes it was worth spending the money on the ticket and yes even though I am sad that we lost I am still glad I went and watched our boys play because fans watch a game regardless of the outcome.

A true fan will go and watch their team (if they can) whether they win or lose, you should stick with your team through the good and bad. If you can’t do this, and only make the effort during the good times; then you are not a true fan. Only going to or watching games that you think Arsenal are guaranteed to win makes you no better than the Chelsea ‘fans’ who all joined the Blues bandwagon once they started winning trophies in recent years.

Fans that love Arsenal unconditionally but only watches them on their TV is still a true fan, they have the passion for their club. There are many reasons why one can’t always get to live games, but they will stand by their team through the rough patches as well as the trophy winning moments.

It’s the fans who say ah well I’m glad I didn’t go to that game or didn’t watch it because I knew there would be no chance of us winning it – these are the ones who are only there for the sake of it. They do not have the passion for commitment.

A true fan will always stand by their team; they won’t look at what is to be gained by watching their team play whether it is on TV, down the pub or by going to the game itself.

My message to the Gooners’ who reside all over the world is: we all love the club….it’s in our blood. No matter how much results upset and annoy us our commitment towards the club never wavers because quite frankly we’re in too deep and it’s impossible to get out…and who would want out?

Let’s show all the pessimistic glory hunters out there that our support is not wavered by a rough patch, we are with our club for life. It is universally known nobody likes Arsenal apart from Arsenal itself and the fans; it’s up to us fans to keep our players going with our unrelenting support. Let the board and seniors deal with the back office politics, we need to concentrate on the public facing aspect and keep a united front together.

We are with The Arsenal whether we win or lose a game.

It’s Arsenal against the world…Come on you Gooners!!!!

'Wenger Out' is NOT the Answer

Blackburn Rovers have knocked Arsenal out the FA cup, a result no Gooner anticipated.

After the game Arsenal fans from all over the world had an opinion on what had gone wrong during the game and who was to blame for defeats against teams such as Blackburn Rovers and Bradford.

Some said it was all Arsene Wenger’s fault; he was to blame for the FA cup defeat. It was his fault because he sold Robin Van Persie to Manchester United. What most of them forgot was that even if Van Persie still played for us he would most likely have been on the bench being rested for the Bayern Munich game.

Arsene sold RVP because he no longer wanted to play for the club, with only one year left on the contract it was the smartest thing to do or he would have walked at the end of the year as a free transfer.

Should Arsene have kept RVP and forced him play for the club?

Van Persie was sold to a rival club and this is deemed unacceptable by many fans and from their perspective they are right to an extent. However if Manchester United were the only ones offering the right price and Robin was happy to move to them what could Arsene have done?

What should have happened after the RVP sale was this:

Arsenal should have paid out for big name players and improved the team. Giroud, Podolski and Santi were brought into the side and have had a huge impact, however no investments were made defensively and we have suffered for this.

‘Wenger out’ seems to be a lot of Gooners favourite catchphrase at the moment. If Arsene did leave, what would this change? The board would still be in place and it is ultimately them that dictate things at the club. A new manager would come in but the circumstances would not change, the board would not suddenly decide to go on a spending spree and spend £100 million on players.

Arsenal only brought one player in January, Nacho a Spanish defender who is extremely capable as any player that makes it into the Spanish national team would be.

Fans are disgruntled that more money was not invested in transfers and this is justified by fans as the team is not performing to expected standards. Has anyone thought that it is possible that Arsene does not in reality have the money to spend that is published in the press?

Wenger is the coach and manager of the football team however he has seniors above him in this case it is the board of directors. As in any organisation a manager is just the middle man/ woman, for example an office manager manages the office staff however has senior managers who decide and tell the office manager what they can and cannot do. They would also assign the budget for the year. How is this any different to what the board at Arsenal are doing with Arsene?

The Board are not bothered with trophies and silverware because their pockets are being filled with millions of pounds year on year, to them Arsenal FC is a business not a football club as it is to its fans.

The root of Arsenal’s problems is the board of directors.
