Win or Lose it’s always going to be Red Army

I paid £87.50 for my Bayern Munich ticket.

Was I sure that Arsenal would win? No.

Do I regret spending £87.50 to watch Arsenal lose 3-1? No.

Don’t get me wrong, I wish with all my heart that we had won the game as I want us to win the Champions League more than anything.

Before the game, people laughed at me saying I was mad to spend so much money on a ticket for a football match and to go to such a game. I got the usual comments berating Arsenal and how badly we were going to lose. I didn’t let this deter me I remained upbeat and excited for the brilliant game ahead.

After the game I received many messages regarding the game asking if it was worth spending the money.

My answer again was yes it was worth spending the money on the ticket and yes even though I am sad that we lost I am still glad I went and watched our boys play because fans watch a game regardless of the outcome.

A true fan will go and watch their team (if they can) whether they win or lose, you should stick with your team through the good and bad. If you can’t do this, and only make the effort during the good times; then you are not a true fan. Only going to or watching games that you think Arsenal are guaranteed to win makes you no better than the Chelsea ‘fans’ who all joined the Blues bandwagon once they started winning trophies in recent years.

Fans that love Arsenal unconditionally but only watches them on their TV is still a true fan, they have the passion for their club. There are many reasons why one can’t always get to live games, but they will stand by their team through the rough patches as well as the trophy winning moments.

It’s the fans who say ah well I’m glad I didn’t go to that game or didn’t watch it because I knew there would be no chance of us winning it – these are the ones who are only there for the sake of it. They do not have the passion for commitment.

A true fan will always stand by their team; they won’t look at what is to be gained by watching their team play whether it is on TV, down the pub or by going to the game itself.

My message to the Gooners’ who reside all over the world is: we all love the club….it’s in our blood. No matter how much results upset and annoy us our commitment towards the club never wavers because quite frankly we’re in too deep and it’s impossible to get out…and who would want out?

Let’s show all the pessimistic glory hunters out there that our support is not wavered by a rough patch, we are with our club for life. It is universally known nobody likes Arsenal apart from Arsenal itself and the fans; it’s up to us fans to keep our players going with our unrelenting support. Let the board and seniors deal with the back office politics, we need to concentrate on the public facing aspect and keep a united front together.

We are with The Arsenal whether we win or lose a game.

It’s Arsenal against the world…Come on you Gooners!!!!
